Diabetes

The normal glucose level in human blood is ranging between 80mg/120mg per 100ml. This level is perfectly maintained by a hormone called insulin. It is responsible for removing the excess of glucose from the blood and storing in the lever in the form of glycogen.Diabetes mellitus is caused due to deficiency of insulin.Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by deficient secretion of insulin from the Islets of Lange Hans in the pancreas. In this carbohydrate is not properly metabolized. There is accumulation of glucose in the blood and glucose also appears in the urine. Administration of insulin or anti diabetic agents lowers the blood sugar by promoting its metabolism and remedies the situation.
